Poker Etiquette

Poker Etiquette is the player's principle. In simple words it means: "Do unto opponents what you would want them to do unto you".

1. Swearing

Swearing should not happen at the poker table. As much as possible be polite. Pretend that you are playing with your mom at the table. You cannot swear in front of your mom, right? If you do no want to be sworn at then you should not swear at others as well.

2. Player or Dealer Abuse

Abuse to other people is not proper. Never curse the dealer or other player it's not their fault that you lost a hand. Keep your emotions in check.

3. Playing Slow

Other players may feel annoyed if they wait too much when it's your turn to make a decision. Playing too slow is not a good tactic, if you think that you are making other players feel nervous, you are wrong you are just drawing out of the game.

4. Splashing the Pot

Remember that it is rude to throw your chips into the pot. This is not a good tactic to cover how much you bet. Stack your chips and slowly move your chips towards the dealer and into the pot.

5. Acting in Turn

Make sure that you act when it is your turn. If you would like to fold, don't do it unless it is your time to act or else you are just giving other players an idea or other information and that is not fair to others before you.

6. String Bets

Bet only the amount you plan to bet. Never plan on tricking your opponent by making them believe that you are betting more than what you really intend to.

7. Hitting on other players

Whether other players are hot or not, it is still not proper to hit on other players. This is a poor tactic you cannot freak out other players. Remember, you're at a poker table and not a single's club.

8. No comments during a hand

If you are playing one hand, never give unsolicited advice. Aside from advice, it is also not proper to comment about other player's hands, even if you're talking about your own hand.

9. Intentionally avoiding blinds

There are poker games that require blinds. As a good poker player never avoid a blind intentionally like leaving the table when it is your time to pay the blind.

10. Rely on the dealer

If you are an inexperienced player never ask another player for help, you can only ask the dealer to read your hand.

11. Don't eat while playing poker

If you eat do not play poker, if you play poker do not eat. It is just that simple. You do not want to touch the cards with greasy hands right?

12. Never forget to show them your winning hands

Players want to know how they actually lost their bet from your hand, so it is right to show them at the beginning or else they will ask you. That is if they called. If they folded it is your option.
